Understanding Billable WAter Damage Calls

In the Water Damage category, a billable call is defined as a customer actively seeking immediate water mitigation, extraction, or structural drying services due to accidental water intrusion. A call remains billable as long as the affected area or materials are currently wet, regardless of when the initial incident occurred. The primary focus of these calls is on the mitigation and dry-out rather than general structural repairs.

We consider requests to be non-billable if they are strictly for maintenance or preventative measures. This includes general carpet cleaning (non-flood related), preventative waterproofing of basements or foundations, and requests solely for mold inspection or testing without active water damage. Additionally, we do not charge for calls regarding damage to RVs/campers, exterior-only water issues, or calls exclusively for reconstruction/remodeling after the drying phase. The caller also must be the property owner or authorized representative.

Please note that this list is provided for reference only and is not exhaustive. Criteria may change as our services evolve.

Billable Water Damage Services

We currently consider the following services to be valid, billable calls for the Water Damage category:

Water Mitigation & Extraction

Requests focusing on the immediate removal of water and drying of the property structure.

  • Natural Disaster Cleanup: Removal of water due to natural disaster, localized flooding, or other weather related event (even if the leakage is ongoing).
  • Fire Suppression Cleanup: Removal of water and drying services required after fire extinguishing efforts.
  • Carpet Dryout: Extraction and drying of water-saturated carpets (specifically related to flooding or leaks, distinct from cosmetic cleaning).

Water Damage from Plumbing Failures

While the plumbing repair itself is a separate trade, the mitigation of the resulting water damage is billable in this category.

  • Active Leaks & Bursts: Water extraction and cleanup required due to burst pipes, leaking appliances, or other plumbing failures.
