Understanding Billable LOCKSMITH Calls

In the Locksmith category, a billable call is defined as a customer actively seeking professional assistance for access control, key creation, or lock repair across automotive, residential, or commercial contexts. The focus is on resolving lockouts, creating new keys, and securing entry points.

We consider requests to be non-billable if they involve restricted proprietary access systems or non-locksmith automotive electronics. Common non-billable examples include programming Apartment Complex Key Fobs (which are typically proprietary to the building management), low-frequency non-vehicle fob reprogramming, and requests specifically for Remote Start installation or repair. Additionally, we do not charge for calls regarding Lug Nut Keys (tire service).

Please note that this list is provided for reference only and is not exhaustive. Criteria may change as our services evolve.
